The community is invited to lace up their running shoes for the 23rd Annual "Jog Into Spring" René Fontana Roche Memorial 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk, set to take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The race will begin and end at the Independence Civic Center, with registration and packet pickup opening at 8:00 a.m. The race and walk will kick off at 9:00 a.m.
The event, which has become a beloved tradition, raises funds for the René Fontana Roche Memorial Scholarship, Garden Fund, and Living Classroom. Participants can register in advance for $25 or on race day for $30, with all in-person registrants receiving a T-shirt, chip timing, raffle prizes, and refreshments. A virtual registration option is also available for out-of-town runners, who must complete their race between April 26 and May 3.
Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top three runners in each age group. A live raffle with prizes will also be held for those attending in person.
To guarantee a T-shirt on race day, participants must register by April 19. Virtual participants should sign up by April 12 to receive their shirt in time for race week.
