first day

The halls of Independence Primary School (IPS) came alive with excitement and joy as students returned for the 2024-2025 school year. The school administration and staff pulled out all the stops to ensure that the first day back was nothing short of magical for their young learners.

As students approached the school, they were greeted by an unexpected sight and sound: cheerful music filled the air while a cascade of bubbles floated around the entrance. This festive atmosphere immediately set the tone for a positive and exciting school year ahead.

"We wanted to create an environment that would make our students eager to return to school," said Principal TJ Ebert. "The music and bubbles were a perfect way to ease any first-day nerves and start the year on a high note."

Inside the school, the warm welcome continued. Teachers and staff members were strategically positioned throughout the building, ready with encouraging words, high-fives, and bright smiles to guide students to their new classrooms. This personal touch helped to calm any remaining anxieties and made each student feel valued and seen.

The festive spirit didn't stop at the classroom door. Teachers incorporated the day's fun theme into their lessons, planning activities and discussions that not only introduced the year's curriculum but also focused on building relationships within the classroom community.

Nancy Wygonski, a teacher at IPS, shared, "It's crucial to start the year by creating a positive classroom environment. Today's activities allowed us to get to know each other and set the stage for a year of collaborative learning and growth."

Parents were equally impressed with the school's efforts. Alyscia Zabukovec, whose son and daughter attend IPS commented, "Seeing my daughter's face light up as we approached the school was priceless. It's clear that IPS goes above and beyond to make learning exciting."

As the first day came to a close, the halls of IPS were buzzing with excitement about the year ahead. With such a joyful start, the 2024-2025 school year at Independence Primary School promises to be filled with growth, learning, and plenty of smiles.
