Independence Primary School's fourth-grade students recently took their engineering and construction skills to new heights during an exciting collaboration with Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC). On May 7, these young innovators visited CVCC to partner with the construction program and design and build their very own birdhouses.
The immersive experience proved to be a hands-on masterclass in practical application. The fourth-graders learned the essential skills of reading blueprints, calculating precise cuts, and determining the optimal amount of wood required for their projects.
This partnership with CVCC, facilitated by career specialist Amanda Jaronowski, has been a game-changer for Independence Primary School (IPS) students. It has opened doors to a world of career exploration, allowing them to delve into diverse fields such as food and hospitality, cosmetology, health, science, and medicine.
